radio to The SPT 184x family combines integrated scanning, connectivity and ruggedness with the Palm Operating System 4.0. The SPT 1842/46 offers data communications capabilities with its built-in link to the open architecture of Spectrum24 (WLAN). This wireless LAN from Symbol Technologies enables information flow between the point of activity and the remote host system. The SPT 1842/46 offers flexible 1D and entry-level PDF417 (two-dimensional) bar code data capture. The optional TRG 3000 Trigger Handle adds a trigger in scanning gun form to your device, increasing comfort when using the terminal in scan-intensive applications for extended periods of time. Warehouse personnel can easily record new inventory levels to networked host systems as shipments are unloaded. At 7 inches high the SPT 1842/46 easily slips into a pocket. Weighing just 10.3 ounces, the rugged housing withstands drops of up to 4 feet to concrete. These computers can be used outdoors on loading docks and yards and, because they use a 650 nm laser diode, the beam is visible even in bright sunlight. A high-contrast, anti-reflective liquid crystal display makes data easy to read in low light or outdoors. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery and optional single- and multi-slot cradle configurations assure flexible convenience and strong performance no matter how intensive the task. Using the Palm platform, programmers can build solutions from numerous standard development environments. A standard 8 MB of RAM expands up to 16 MB for large data or program storage demands. Flash ROM expands from 4MB to 8MB. Developers can use standard Palm OS development tools to write custom applications.
The PPT2846, a member of the newest family of Microsoft Pocket PC-based terminals from Symbol Technologies, combines the Pocket PC platform with bar code scanning and real-time wireless communication options. Features & Benefits
Symbol PDT8146
The PDT 8100 Series from Symbol Technologies features both pen-based and key-based mobile data collection available with multiple keyboard options. Multiple keyboard options allow for maximum data entry efficiency in different environments. Route accounting professionals may prefer the 28-key numeric keyboard, whereas retail customers may opt for either a 37- or 47-key alphanumeric keyboard. The PDT 8100 can be coupled with communication options that include batch, Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) connectivity. The PDT 8100 features a large 1/4 VGA display, backlit keyboard,
rechargeable, extended-use lithium-ion battery and combines Microsoft's
Pocket PC platform with the Intel
StrongARM processor, operating at 206 MHz and equipped with 32 MB
or 64 MB of RAM and 32 MB of ROM.
The TeamPad
7120 is available as a one-dimensional or two-dimensional scanner.
With a built-in PCMCIA slot, the TeamPad 7120 supports both batch and
wireless communications for local and wide-area networks. The 7120 runs
MS-DOS (ROM version 5.0) and adheres to industry standards.
Symbol Technologies Spectrum24 4131 Access Point provides wireless LAN performance required for advanced mobile networking and wireless voice and data application support, including 10/100 Base-T Ethernet connectivity. Operating in the 2.4 GHz band at speeds up to 11Mbps, Spectrum24 High Rate provides secure wireless access to corporate intranets and the Internet. The 4131 Access Point supports up to 127 clients with Wi-Fi-certified 802.11b client cards and Spectrum24 High Rate Universal Serial Bus for desktop and other USB-enabled equipment. Mobile voice and data devices with embedded wireless connectivity cards also communicate with the Spectrum24 High Rate 4131 Access Point. Adding more access points scales the Spectrum24 High Rate wireless LAN to support additional users. Symbol's 4131 Access Point features multi-mode security options: industry-standard 40 and 128 bit WEP encryption; Symbol's Kerberos V5 based mobile security; 802.1x based EAP/TLS and RADIUS or a combination of these choices. The 4131 Access Point dynamically rate scales, transmitting data at 11 Mbps then automatically scaling to 5.5 Mbps, 2 Mbps, and 1 Mbps to ensure best range and throughput. As signal strength decreases, the transmit rate also decreases, ensuring maximum range while maintaining data integrity. It features a transmission range up to 1,500 feet outdoors and up to 295 feet indoors The 4131 Access Point meets fire retardant standards for placement in ceilings and other areas throughout your facilities. The Power-over-Ethernet Hub from Symbol Technologies delivers operating power and data to 4131 Access Points via standard Category 5 Ethernet cable, eliminating the need for 110/220 volt AC cable and power converters at each access point location. This significantly reduces cabling and outlet requirements. Symbol's selection of high-performance omni-directional (360°) and directional (20° to 90°) antennas provide different coverage patterns to meet site, application and power requirements.
